Naoe Sasaki Pianist and Educator
Naoe Sasaki, born in Munich in 2000, initially learned to play the piano largely as a self-taught musician. He began his training at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich in 2019 as a junior student under Prof. Thomas Böckheler. He subsequently continued his studies there and completed his Master’s degree in Piano with Prof. Silke Avenhaus in the summer of 2026.
A multiple prize-winner at the “Jugend musiziert” competition, he was recognized at the Clavis International Piano Competition in 2021. In 2024, he won First Prize at the Vienna International Music Festival, followed by Second Prize at the “Sounds of the Land of Fire” International Music Competition in 2025. At the 2026 Tunbridge Wells International Music Competition in England, he received all three major awards: First Prize in the Piano Category, the Overall Prize across all categories, and the Audience Prize. Since 2024, he has been a scholarship holder of Live Music Now Munich.
As a soloist, chamber musician, and piano teacher, Naoe Sasaki regularly performs in concerts, festivals, and artistic projects, including the Wasserburg Piano Summer and orchestral appearances with Bavaria Klassik. His artistic activities are further enriched by innovative concert formats and collaborative projects such as Piano en Pointe. Within the Pianistenclub e. V., he has appeared regularly as a pianist and has also contributed in conceptual and artistic capacities. As a pedagogue, he works with students who have been awarded prizes at “Jugend musiziert” and international competitions; in 2026, he also served as a jury member for “Jugend musiziert.”
